Description: The film appears to start in Calcutta with street scenes, and views of some of the buildings, both Western and Eastern in influence. A funeral procession takes place, ending at the river. Further inland the setting is altogether more rural, with peasant villages. There is a parade by the ceremonial guard of an Indian prince, complete with jewelled war elephants and camels. Views of one of the main Hindu temples. Near the temple there is a market, including a metalworker with a hand-bellows.
Scenes of traditional Indian life in the mid-1920s.
